How the goalkeepers are ranked:
- Each goalkeeper is measured each week by their shot-stopping, shot-prevention, and one v one performances against the statistically ‘average’ Premier League goalkeeper.
- Each goalkeeper is then given an overall plus or minus goalkeeper against this ‘average’ ranking, which gives us their overall value in goals each week to a team.
- The overall value in goals (positive or negative) each week is added to the previous week's value, and this pattern is followed until the end of the season.
- By gameweek 38 (the end of the season), if there are any goalkeepers who have not reached the 28 league appearances mark (roughly 75% of matches played over the season), they will not qualify for final position in the league table regardless of overall value in goals. This is done to ensure broadly equal inputs into results.
